On Tuesday, May 18, Kathy Brittingham’s sister Barbara Appleberry passed away. On Thursday, May 27, Kathy’s father James “Ted” Monroe also died. What do you say to a good and caring friend who in a span of just ten days suffers the loss of first a sibling and then a parent? The cheap sentiments commonly found inside a sympathy card are frequently too feeble to offer much in the way of solace. For that one must turn to a wordsmith like author of “Macbeth”, quote: “Give sorrow words. That grief that does not speak/ whispers the overwrought heart and bids it break.” Let’s hope that the loving memorials that Kathy wrote and submitted to the Orange County Register provided her with at least some measure of comfort.
Moving quickly and thankfully to the flip side of life, please say hello to Miles Luca Gray, 8lbs., 10oz, 20 ½ in., Mike and Julie Gray’s very first grandchild. Arriving fully equipped with ten toes, ten fingers, and one head, Miles made his first appearance at 7:59AM on June 11. If you’d like to see this handsome child, his grandmother would be only too happy to whip out her cell phone and show you a photo, if not several... We would also like to meet Talia Perez and her brother Roey Israel Perez, Chuck Richmond and Susan Gross’ second and third grandchildren. Tipping the scales at 5lbs., 2oz and 5lbs., 6oz, respectively, the twins broke out at 3:30PM on June 16. Talia, Roey and Miles, welcome to our world, such as it is.
